Copper Plates 1-10 is a continuing series of works that explore the insignia of institutional and ontological representations. The works are derived from graphic logos seen on the side of trucks and haulage vehicles, which include the original logos, graffiti, and the build up of the wear and tear as they trawl the landscape. Copper Plates takes these design spaces and considers them as the grounds for new institutions, where abstract images operate as new forms of iconography. Mixing the aesthetics of game play pixels, and the institutional regalia of corporate name plates the works present a series of landscape and portraits that adopt these spaces of power and meaning.
