“The current hype around so-called “Artificial Intelligence”, now equated with LLMs and generative AI, is more emblematic than we would like it to be. While the phenomenon and discussions revolving around it are omnipresent, they usually fail to achieve not only a more technically informed level, but also a proper ontological conceptualization which poses the real question. Most commonly, AI spikes either eschatological quasi religious fears of the eradication of mankind (or art), or it is proposed as the solution to any number of issues (from global climate change to the riddle of human intelligence). While affectively overvaluing the possible outcome, we are losing track of what is actually going on right now. As an economic-political model, current AI is clearly accelerating and rewiring certain forms of economic and social functioning. Simply take into account the sheer overinflation of AI companies; estimated investment in the infrastructure for AI alone reached $318 billion in 2025, and is expected to keep rising, while all dominant AI models are currently operating at a loss.Clearly, there must be some other trick of the game here, some- thing more to the race than direct profitability.”  Václav Janoščík.
